Two hours in time

Today's challenge  -
https://challenge.meyouhealth.com

Choose a busy 2-hour period during your day, and write down what you do during that time.

Today is my relaxing day, so I don't have a busy 2 hours. This is what my previous 2 hours looked like.

~ Put my hair up with a clip, to keep it out of my face.
~ Decide which swimsuit I want to wear.
~ Change my mind and pick a different one.
~ Decide which cover-up I want to put over my swimsuit.
~ Change my mind and pick a different one.
~ Take the clip out of my hair and put my hair in a ponytail.
 ~ Put sunscreen on.
~ Look at myself in the mirror, from all angles.
~ Get a small backpack for my walk and fill it with items.
~ Change my mind and use a different backpack.
 ~ Go to the beach.
~ Walk for two miles in the soft sand.
~ Become exhausted and come back home.
~ Change into shorts and a tank top.
 ~ Use the restroom.
~ Grab a snack and drink.
 ~ Turn on laptop.
~ Put cell phone on charger.
 ~ Sort through emails.
 ~ Write this.

I wonder what I will do for the rest of the day.

I RAN LIKE A MOTHER

#SweatPink with Me / #Anywhere5k Virtual Run Recap

Can somebody slow things down for me?

I have so much that I want to blog about and time just keeps getting away from me. What I think I need is a personal secretary to walk along side of me during the day to take notes and turn them into blog posts for me.

I want to write about how there was a virtual run this past weekend and I did it on the treadmill. Actually, there were two that I joined together. I feel that each should have gotten their own run, and maybe I can do that next time. (maybe)

SweatPink virtual 5k - here is how it went.

Since I worked on Saturday I decided that I would do this run on Sunday. As I programmed it into my phone I could already feel the sand between my toes as I ran it on the beach. Oh, I was so excited at the thought of running to my favorite place and back home again, knowing that it measures 3.1 miles. Doesn't that seem like it was just made to be? Imagine my excitement when I measured it one day and it equaled a 5k. My favorite place in the whole World to go to and it equals a 5k? Say it isn't so?!?!

MY FAVORITE PLACE !!
Sunday morning came and so did the rain. Jack prepared to leave for golf. (Yeah, they still show up and golf in the rain), and he suggested that I get an early start because he would probably be back in an hour. Seriously, he expected me to run before 7 am? (insert laughter here)

I went down to the beach to take some pictures and to 'test the waters'. Yup, that was rain over yonder.

Back upstairs I went and changed into my running clothes.  I don't have pink running clothes, but I did take some pink with me.

The warm up went well and it was time to run.

The other day I saw this lady put a towel over the front of the treadmill and I thought that would be a great idea to keep me focused on my running and not on the numbers. The bad part is that I didn't know when I hit the one mile mark. Okay, that's not really a bad thing.

Short and sweet, this is how it went :

When I moved the towel it showed that I had gone 1.1 miles in 10:55. All of the sudden I had gained a little burst, because that little .1 always seems to bug me at the end of my run.

Mile number two was done in 10:05
Mile number three in 9:46
Finished at 30:46.

HELLO PERSONAL RECORD !!

I can't wait until the next one.

THANK YOU AGAIN TO RUNNING MOM AT

As soon as I get that assistant she is going to help me write about how I have logged 1000+ miles so far this year. Stay tuned.

GUNS, ICE CREAM, AND DUMPSTER DIVING

Today I have been documenting my day at work.
(Not a typical day)

I didn't plan on documenting my day, but this morning, as I was making my rounds at the condo I saw this strange man sleeping on the stairs. He had his head tucked under his shirt and it seemed that he had been there for awhile. Some friends said that he had been there all night. Can you say photo op???

As I am going back home to get the camera (up to 4th floor), I realize that there is a car running in the parking lot, and I had noticed it about 15 minutes earlier. Carefully, I walk around the vehicle, peering into the window (from a distance), but they are tinted so dark I can't see anything. There is no parking tag on the windshield, so it doesn't look like a person is a guest here. Could this be a crime scene???

I notified our on-site manager and she called the sheriff. To make a long story shorter, there were actually 4 men in that car and they had been sleeping there for hours. Skinny guy couldn't fit, so he went to the stairs. The sheriff is talking with them and he has them open the trunk. On my next trip past I see something tucked into the windshield of the car.

 It is a gun!!

Apparently the gun was registered and all were clear, because he let them drive away. (boo...I wanted to see cuffs)

It was great excitement and I got paid for an hour worth of work to enjoy it.

(and now the rest of my day)

I had to clean the grounds, so I continued with my documenting and took pictures of the 20 or so cigarette butts that people leave. They don't just leave them on the ground; they toss them into the red rocks. Perhaps they think that is less tacky, but it takes me more time to dig them out. Thank you people; I love to get paid to use my little grabber and pick up your butts.

A nice lady was walking to her car and had a box of snickers ice cream bars, so of course I tell her "YUM, THOSE LOOK DELICIOUS!!" She said that they were leaving and had to clear out the freezer, and she offered me those treats.
 Thank you nice lady.

We all know what a dumpster diver is, and I am not one of those. I am a dumpster grabber. (love my grabber thingy) When I was checking the trash this morning, before all of this excitement happened,  I saw a few items that needed to come home with me.

Now if only I could get these people to just bring me these items instead of making me look in the trash for them. Hard to believe that they pay me for this.

There you have it; a day at my job.

HOW WAS YOUR DAY?

THERE IS A VIRTUAL RUN THIS WEEKEND

There is a Virtual run planned for this weekend.
Anytime between May 12-13.

Mine is planned for Sunday morning, and I am hoping that we don't have rain.

I would love to run this on the beach, but it's nice to have the treadmill downstairs as a backup.

We will see what happens.
You can check out the blog post here.

She has organized everything.
I am merely passing along the information in case anybody who reads this would be interested.

Perhaps it will give you a reason to get off your tush this weekend.

Even though it's called a run, you could still walk it and get some exercise in.

Here are some facts from her wonderful page:

Dates: May 12 - May 13, 2012 (in honor of Mother's Day weekend)
Time: Any time
Place: Any place and treadmills are perfectly acceptable
Distance: 5K, 10K, or 1/2 marathon....your choice
Who: Any one....moms, dads, non-parents, kids
Why: Why not? But in all reality, it would be a wonderful running gift for yourself or your active mom. Imagine the joy of running and sweating pink guilt-free. 'nuff said. Oh yeah....and there will be door prizes!

Race results are due by May 15 to be eligible for the door prize drawings. The winners will be announced on her blog on May 16, 2012.

It wouldn't hurt to take a peek at her page, even if you aren't into running, or walking, or crawling, or biking, or getting off your butts this weekend.

Have a nice day

LET'S DO THIS !!!

Cheesy Potato Soup

I LOVE TO COOK AND I ENJOY TRYING NEW RECIPES.
WE ALWAYS HAVE LEFTOVER POTATOES IN OUR BAG.
THEY GROW EYES AND LOOK AT ME ALL OF THE TIME.

ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME??
WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU POTATOES WITH EYES - MAKE CHEESY POTATO SOUP !!
I FOUND A RECIPE AT PILLSBURY.COM

I USED HALF THE CHEESE, AND ABOUT 1 CUP LESS BROTH.
MINE WAS READY IN LESS THAN 6 HOURS.
 IT CAME OUT SO GOOD.

Cheesy Potato Soup

Prep Time: 25 Min

Total Time: 6 Hr 55 Min

Makes: 6 servings (1 2/3 cups each)

INGREDIENTS:
4 slices bacon

1 1/2 cups chopped onion

5 cups diced peeled russet potatoes (about 5 medium)

1 medium stalk celery, chopped (1/2 cup)

1 carton (32 oz) Progresso® chicken broth (4 cups)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups half-and-half

1 bag (8 oz) shredded American and Cheddar cheese blend (2 cups)

DIRECTIONS:

In 12-inch skillet, cook bacon over medium heat, turning occasionally, until browned and crispy.

NOT REAL CRISPY; JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT

Remove from skillet, reserving fat in skillet. Drain bacon on paper towel, then refrigerate.

In same skillet, cook onion in bacon fat over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until tender.

Spray 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In cooker, mix onion, potatoes, celery, broth, salt and pepper.

I USED MY OWN BROTH, AND LESS (only because that was all I had)

Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 7 hours.

THERE IT IS - COOKING AWAY

In small bowl, beat flour and half-and-half with wire whisk until well blended; stir into soup. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook about 30 minutes longer or until thickened.

LOOKING GOOD !!!

Stir in cheese until well melted.

SAY CHEESE !!!

Crumble bacon; sprinkle over soup.

GOODNESS IN A BOWL
