Just Dance, or sit on the couch

DAILY CHALLENGE TODAY WAS "SIDE-STEPPING"

I had to laugh when I saw this challenge and pictured myself last night do this exact same thing. I wear a MYTRAK (if you watch biggest loser, they use them) and the idea is to have the dial turn green by the end of the day. Since I boosted my goal on the MYTRAK (what was I thinking???) I now have to log about 15,000 steps to reach my goal per day.

One good thing is that this MYTRAK keeps track of all of your movements, so it measures activities that aren't walking, but are still movements. (cycling..swimming, etc.) I have not done those things, but I think it is still really cool that it does that.

Anyhow..back to the challenge. Last night I had about 2000 steps to do and it was 10:30 at night. I jogged in place, I side stepped, (told you I did) I jumped up and down, I pretended that I had a jump rope, and I ran circles inside the house from room to room.

I think that Kermit said it best with his song.
It's not that easy being green

Today was sister day and we did Just Dance 3. For two hours we "danced" and that darn gadget still wasn't green. (it is now) You really have to have a big space to do Just Dance 3 with other people. There were three of us today and we really had a lot of fun.

At one point, while we are partly through a song, I turned my head to give my sister kudos for her great scoring and what I saw irked surprised me. She was just sitting on the couch, moving her hands. Two thumbs up for you sis. Way to participate.

I think it's time to do more "side-stepping" now.
   See you soon.

Packing for my trip

 Today's challenge at https://challenge.meyouhealth.com/

Increase your heart rate by adding arm swings to 5 squats.

and my ramble about it  ---

This is done today. The multi-tasker that I am, I walked in place while I went through my suitcase. I took some nice deep breaths and did the squats. My head was spinning as I try to remain relaxed.

My stomach is a rumbling mess today as I prepare for my trip North. Perhaps someday this will end. You would think that I would be used to this traveling back and forth thing since I have been doing it for over 5 years. This trip is only supposed to last about 4 weeks and I really have a lot to get done in that time. I can't even say that is the reason for the flip flops in my stomach. Flying doesn't bother me, but the unknown chaos when I get there always throws me into a frantic state of mind.

I have prolonged the packing for as long as I can, but it doesn't take much time to get that done. It makes me laugh at myself because the majority of my suitcase is electronics. I have packed my Wii and games, so that my girls can do Just Dance and Zumba with me. This means that I had to pack the controllers and all of the cords, which takes up a lot of space in a carry on suitcase.

My laptop bag is really a gym bag and I am trying real hard to keep it minimal so that they don't accuse me of carrying on two bags. (oh goodness, we can't have that). Part of me wants to just check this main bag and pay the $25, but I am much to frugal for that. I am hoping that they just check it at the door for me anyhow, because I always have one heck of a time getting it in and out of the overhead compartment.

I only repacked one time, so it seems that I am getting pretty good at this. If I think about it for too long I know that I will go in there and re-do it all over again. This is one of the reasons that I wait until the final days to pack. Do I really need that roll of toilet paper? Wouldn't it suck to get settled in at the house and realize that I don't have any? If I don't have the Internet, at least I can use the toilet. (smirk)

side note: I just spent two hours laying out in the sun. That felt great.
