HOW TO WIN GIVEAWAYS

  I love to enter giveaways, but I love winning even more. Over the past few days I have made a list of what I have won this year. They range from a value of $3 (for a coupon to get a bottle of coffee-Mate), up to a $200 gift certificate at Sports Authority (which was used to purchase over $300 in merchandise)
  My list contains 110 items as of today's date. There have been 208 days in the calendar year, so that means I average one win every two days. WOW..I had no idea it was that much.

Doesn't that make you want to get right out there and enter a few giveaways?

  I am not giving away which web sites I enter from; sorry.. that would be like telling you what horses I am betting on, and why would I want you to enter if I want to win??  (I will be sharing very soon, in a review)
  Here is an awesome link. You can find many giveaways here. Search for a particular item, ending dates, only blog entries, only one entry giveaways, and so much more.

http://www.sweepsadvantage.com/blog-giveaway.html

How do I win giveaways?

Here are some of the steps I follow, in no particular order.

#1  If I find a site that I like I will check their giveaway list and enter everything that I am interested in before moving on to another blog.

#2  PARTNERS -  There are some blogs that partner together and do the same giveaway. If you have done all of the requirements on one blog it becomes very easy to put in entries on the second blog. This gives you twice the chances to win. Keep in mind that they will alter the entries a little, so you will still have to be sure and read all of the directions.

#3 GOOGLE SEARCH AKA SWAGBUCK SEARCH - Find a giveaway that you absolutely love? Do a google search for "such and such giveaway" and you can find other giveaways for the same item. I went on a crazy rampage once and entered every Swimspot giveaway that I could, and I have won $150 worth of merchandise from them.

#4 UTILIZE ALL OPTIONS - There are entries for everything. Join Facebook, Twitter, Stumble, Google, Google +, and start a blog. You can get extra entries for all of these. There are others, but these are just off the top of my head.

#5 BONUS ENTRIES - Some blogs have hidden bonus entries and will have a link for it in the directions. These can get you multiple added entries.

#6 TWEET TWEET TWEET TWEET - A lot of giveaways allow you to do daily entries and the most common one is Daily tweets. Some even allow 3-4 tweets per day as long as you spread them out. If a contest runs for 14 days you can rack up a lot of bonus entries this way.

#7 VOTE for them. If you vote for a blog on one of the voting pages, that vote will count for every giveaway that you enter on that page, for that day.

#8 RAFFLECOPTER - Blogs are now using rafflecopter. These make entries as easy as a quick click and giving your email address, google name, twitter name, etc. Very easy, especially if you have already "liked" and "followed" these blogs and sponsors.

#9 TWITTER PARTIES - I love twitter parties. They usually last an hour, but some last for two hours. You can use TweetGrid to keep track of what is going on during the chat. Nearly every party offers a list of prizes for sending your RSVP and participating in the chat. A lot of these still have comments that you do ahead of time, and they pick  the winners randomly. I enjoy these because there is interaction with people and I always get great information from others. I win at nearly half of the twitter parties that I attend, and I find some great people to follow. It is also a good way to get retweeted and build my Klout, which helps me to earn products.

#10 Make a "cheat sheet" to make your entries go faster. When you get to that entry you just copy and paste the line you need.

Here is a brief example:

I like you on facebook (FACEBOOK NAME)

email MYNAME{at}aol{dot}com

Following you on Twitter
@TWITTER NAME

I follow you via GFC publicly (GFC NAME)

email MYNAME{at}aol{dot}com

daily tweet @TWITTER NAME

I subscribe to your blog via email

good luck.. let me know if you win something.
 And now I must go do some daily tweets.

Can my new shoes last me 500 miles?

SUNDAY IS THE DAY THAT US GALS USUALLY UPDATE OUR WALKING PROGRESS.
Eh, I am only two days late.

It's not like anyone is racing here to see how I did, and I think that is why I am so darn slow posting.

THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE VERY SOON .. JUST YOU WATCH AND SEE

BEFORE I RAMBLE ABOUT MY NEW SHOES.. HERE IS MY WEEKLY UPDATE

I LOGGED 30 MILES LAST WEEK
THAT BRINGS MY TOTAL TO 503 MILES

I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT REACHING 500 MILES, REALLY I AM.  :::FLASHING MY EXCITED FACE:::

SPEAKING OF EXCITED ....

WE DROVE TO PENSACOLA LAST WEEK TO SPEND THE $200 GIFT CARD THAT I WON FOR SPORTS AUTHORITY, AND WE DID AN AWESOME JOB DOING THAT.
YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY.   I WON $200 !!

WOO FRICKEN HOO !!

HERE IS A PICTURE OF THE ITEMS THAT WE FOUND
VALUE BEFORE SALE PRICES = $340
MJ HAD TO REACH INTO HIS POCKET TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE, AFTER THEY TOOK OFF THE GIFT CARD THAT I WON. TOTAL COST FOR US WAS 36 CENTS. CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW TO MAKE THE "CENTS" SIGN?

SEE THOSE AWESOME SHOES? THOSE ARE MY NEW RUNNING SHOES. I WILL NOT BE DOING ANY RUNNING IN THEM, BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE THEM ANY LESS AWESOME.  THEY ARE THE BEST SHOES THAT I HAVE EVER HAD, AND THEY ARE KEEPING ME OFF OF THE BEACH.  I WANT TO WEAR THESE SHOES WHEN I WALK, AND THERE IS NO WAY THAT I AM GETTING THEM NEAR THE SAND. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF OTHER REASONS WHY I AM STAYING OFF OF THE BEACH, BUT THAT'S ANOTHER STORY.

THE SALESMAN MUST HAVE JUST HAD A headache BLAST HELPING ME AS I MADE MY CHOICE OF SHOES. ONE PAIR AT A TIME HE WOULD GO BACK AND HALF OF THE TIME HE RETURNED WITHOUT MY SIZE. IT SHOULD BE A LAW THAT THEY CARRY MY SIZE AT ALL TIMES, JUST IN CASE I SHOW UP. HE SUGGESTED THE RUNNING SHOES VERSUS THE WALKING SHOES AND I WAS NOT HAVING ANY PART OF THAT. (I saw the prices) WHAT IS WITH ALL OF THE UGLY STRIPES THEY PUT ON THEM?? LIKE I TOLD MJ "I AM NOT DIRECTING TRAFFIC IN THEM"
 LOL I CRACK MYSELF UP.

MOST RUNNING SHOES HAVE MESH OVER THE TOES AND I HAD A FIT WITH ONE PAIR BECAUSE I COULD SEE MY SOCKS THROUGH THEM.

NEGATIVE, MR. SALESMAN...RETURN THIS PAIR TO THE BACK ROOM.

HE SEEMED A LITTLE ANNOYED AMUSED AT MY DILEMMA. I GUESS NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO DJ ...... GOOD JOB DUDE.

I FOUND A PAIR OF SHOES THAT I LIKED

AS WE TALKED I SHOWED HIM THE SHAPE OF MY OLD SHOES, WHICH ARE ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD. I THINK HE WARMED UP TO ME A LITTLE, BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY HAD A CONVERSATION. HE MENTIONED THAT HE HAD HEARD SOMEWHERE THAT A GOOD PAIR OF RUNNING SHOES SHOULD LAST 500 MILES.

I HAVE COME TO THIS CONCLUSION...

FACT #1  A GOOD PAIR OF RUNNING SHOES = 500 MILES
FACT #2  I WILL NOT BE RUNNING IN THEM
DEDUCTION =  THEY WILL LAST MORE THAN 500 MILES

SO THERE YA GO..THE POST ABOUT MY NEW SHOES

STAY TUNED FOR THE POST ON MY NEW HEELS THAT I WILL NEVER WEAR OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE AND PLAN ON PASSING ON TO MY DAUGHTER WHO IS 25.

If I was half my age..I would totally be running in these

Today I hit the wall

 HOLY COW, CALL THE PRESSES.. MY THIRD POST IN A ROW !!

I have found a new blog to follow and she provides us with a place to show off a photo every week.
I am leery to participate, because every time I join something it goes belly up.
(see blog from 2 days ago for reference)

Today I walked to my favorite place, about 1.5 miles from my home. It is a broken barrier wall.

Many times I have tried to capture the waves as they pound against these massive pieces, but I am not successful very often. Today I captured this shot and I am choosing it as my submission for the week.

 I SQUATTED ... I WAITED

AND I SNAPPED

and then, she {snapped}

Please click the button above to join in, or just to see some amazing photos

I HOPE TO BE A CONTRIBUTOR FOR MANY WEEKS TO COME.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BECAUSE THE WALL IS MY FAVORITE PLACE TO WALK TO, I AM SHARING SOME MORE.
"I SHOT THE WALL"
I DON'T CAPTURE THE SUNSET THERE OFTEN, BECAUSE IT'S SO DARK BY THE TIME I RETURN HOME
I THINK THAT THIS IS WHAT I USED FOR MY BACKGROUND
THIS WAS ALSO TAKEN TODAY
I LOVE THE TWINKLING STARS ON THE WATER
So, it's Sunday
eeek..ever hit publish before you mean to?)
It is actually Saturday night as I start writing this post. MJ is snoozing in the recliner and I try to stay as quiet as I can, because I know that it is bedtime when he wakes. If I don't write when I have the urge, then days could go by before I get something written.
Here is my update for the week..miles and photos
Sunday - I logged  3.78 miles
I always start out really good on Sunday, because there is a part of me that worries that I won't get my steps in for the week.
I entered giveaways for the first hour and won a ticket to see Cars.When I went down to get the newspaper, it spit my money back at me. Woohoo, a free paper. Yes, I feel a little guilty about keeping the money, but if I didn't get it then the next person would. What's a gal to do?
Once my chores were done, I headed out for a walk.
Monday - logged 1.24 miles
Went to see Cars2 today and use the ticket that I won from Walmart's facebook page. I was not real eager to see this movie, since I am not a child, don't have a small child, and I didn't see the first Cars movie. After we got our HUGE bucket of popcorn and our HUGE soda (which holds 7 cups), we found the theater that was showing the movie. I joked and said that we could sneak into the other room and watch Mr. Popper's Penguins. Five minutes later we were settled into new seat, watching penguins. Yeah.. we are SO bad.
Enjoyed the movie and laughed a lot. Every time a person got close MJ would make a joke about how they were going to haul us off. I love him so much and how he makes me smile.
There was a nice BOGO coupon for KFC in Sunday's paper, so we went there for dinner. It wasn't too bad, but I certainly wouldn't pay full price for it.
Tuesday - logged 1.84 miles
Today I only took a short walk and then I enjoyed some sun at the pool
Wednesday - logged 1.46 miles
Today we used a coupon at Wendy's and fell in love with their DT sandwich. People really need to stop sending us coupons. I love a good deal, but the fast food is not fitting into my fitness plan very well. It seems like I am never going to lose these extra 10 pounds.
We went to the Commissary to do our grocery shopping. I was happy to walk out with a $42 savings. Here is a picture of the best part. All of this was a total of 40 cents.
Gotta love coupons!!
Thursday - 2.57 miles logged
This morning I found out that I won more items ($75 worth)
(movie tickets, hair stuff, and a kids microscope) Some days a crazy like that and then I can go for days and not win anything.
Today I went for a walk on the beach and took pictures. The seaweed was so nasty, and my feet sunk up to 8 inches every once in awhile. It was kind of gross and I worried that I might ruin my camera, so I had to move up to the deep sand to walk.
GREAT WORKOUT
Ordered my Picabo books today of my little grandson. I made one last year, but gave it to his mom.
Paid $25 for a $100 gift certificate last September. Used $50 of that to get the new book, and received a second one for free. Still have $50 left on gift certificate, so I hope to repeat this process when they have this special again.
Friday - 1.24 miles logged
Today was a huge mail delivery day for us. Something happened that I thought was very interesting, and odd.
My name is Ronalee, and when I send my address information for my wins I always cut and paste my information, including my name. The name Rosalee (notice the spelling) was on three packages. They all came from different places, all sent on different days, one hand written, and two printed. What makes this even more interesting to me is that my online name is rosealee, and I actually do get mail in that name occasionally. Notice though that it has an E in the name, and there is no way that I gave out that name. Just found that so kooky, that I had to share.
Here was the mail  received today.
Today we went to Walmart to find some Blue-Emu for MJ. He has golfer's thumb (my term for it) and a friend suggested it. Of course I suggested the FREE Ben-gay that I received, but that didn't fly. (laughing)
While we were there I saw that they have the blood bank drive, so I donated blood for the first time in my life. I can't believe that I had not done this before. They gave me a $5 gift card for Walmart, but that wasn't why I did it.
We had a date with MJ's daughter at Outback. It was a post Father's Day dinner for him/birthday for her. No details, but it wasn't quite the cheery visit that it usually is. Hopefully we can remedy that the next time.
SIDE NOTE... We ate out WAY too much this week !!!
Saturday - walked 8.33 miles + 15 minutes swimming
I went out early, but not as early as the fishermen.
I must have gotten too close to a nesting area, because I got attacked by a sandpiper
View it here for a good laugh.
I went home to cool off, and then I walked again
Took a quick swim to cool off and walked again  for 3 miles
The heat index today was 106
 I found a sand pail and shovel that made a nice photo prop.
and one more quick walk at sunset
All time record on my pedometer reading.
(25,500 steps)
Total for the week 22.35 miles
(including workout times converted to miles)
472.5 miles since I started the challenge
To meet my new challenge (thank you MJ) I will need to log an average of 34 miles per week. This is twice what I normally do, but definitely within my reach.
THE GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK IS 40 MILES
DON'T FORGET THAT 15 MINUTES OF EXERCISE = 1 MILE
