Dear reader

I have been in a rambling mood for a few days now and I think it is because it is time to plan my trip home to Florida. (squeals in excitement) There isn't always someone to talk to when I am like this, so I figured I may as well write it out here so that I can open up some free space in my head.

A few days ago I told MJ that I was ready to use my ticket and schedule my trip home. At first, I was going to use my free $300 voucher from my last trip (thank you Delta) and get a round trip ticket. It seemed like a wonderful idea, knowing that I would be back here in October for the birth of my new grand baby.
When MJ is not with me and I don't have travel plans, I feel stuck in Omaha. Before even purchasing the ticket I was already feeling "stuck in Omaha" for October. Does that make sense?
Thanks to MJ's wonderful plan, I will be heading back to Florida on a one way ticket. We will worry about the next trip when the time comes. Now, I just have to pick a day.

Yesterday and today have been so busy for deliveries. I have been getting freebies that I signed up for, items that I have won in giveaways, and notifications of more to come. When I started on this coupon/freebie/giveaway roller coaster ride, I didn't realize how overwhelming it could become. One of these days I will start writing some reviews on these items to let people know how much I appreciate my wins. It will also be great practice for when I have my own giveaways.

I won and received a bottle of gummy vitamins with fiber (90), which is ironic, because I am already on a fiber overload from the granola bars that I am eating. Recently I won a child's gummy vitamin and I have to admit I pretty much ate them like candy. Slower than I would have if it were candy, but still faster than I should have for a vitamin. I will do better on these new vitamins. they leave a bit of an aftertaste, so that makes it easier for me to limit myself.

A corner store by my sister has a ridiculous sale on various items.  We have been getting granola bars for me.

THIS IS $3 WORTH OF GRANOLA BARS.

That's a wrap

Update for the challenge

HERE ARE A FEW PICTURES THAT I CAPTURED THIS WEEK WHILE I WAS OUT AND ABOUT
(my fitness update is at the bottom)

Spring did find it's way to Omaha, for a few days.
These flowers are growing on the South side of our home. They are so pretty. I always cut them and take them inside, so that i can enjoy them more.

This little one hangs out in my sister's back yard.

I was so excited to look out of her bedroom window and see the sunset through the trees.I am nearly counting the days already until I am back in Florida.

We had rain, so I got playful with the umbrella. What a fun day.

THE 400 MILE FITNESS CHALLENGE IS STILL GOING STRONG. I HAVE MADE IT TO THE HALF-WAY POINT.

Day 19

Day 19 - A picture of you when you were little.

The year that I was born

  1964

  • Acrylic paint invented.
  • Permanent-press fabric invented.
  • Most of NBC's programs are now broadcast in color.

I am in the mood to ramble, but I must head to bed.

Day 18

Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity.

I think that my biggest insecurity is:

Talking about the past.

Time for an update, already?

If you fell through a hole in the blog universe and landed on this page, you have found my update to the 400 mile Fitness Challenge. I have been participating for about 2 months and I am almost halfway to my goal. click the button above and join in.

My miles are steady on this challenge, and now I feel that it is time to kick it up a notch. The other day I did the Wii Fit Plus with my sister and we had a blast. I could tell it was a good workout, because of the way my body felt. When I see how my balance is improving, I get so excited, and plan on continuing. My sis gave me a Biggest Losers Wii game that she had and I did that today.
Today Bob Harper trained me.
Woo Hoo

Here is how I did.

Total this week = 17.18 miles
12 of these are from walking
The rest are workouts that I converted to miles.

Previous  = 173.64 miles
New Total   = 190.8 miles

This week we welcome SPRING to Omaha

I can't wait to see them tomorrow

If it were Wordless Wednesday

If it were Wordless Wednesday I would probably post this picture of Mr. Handsome. He is so fun and isn't a big fan of grandma with her camera. He'll get over it, I'm sure.
I love milkweeds (I think that is what they are called)  and I had a blast showing him how they fly around. It was a great day for memories.

PINT

Only Parent Chronicles

Day 17, but I should be finished.

This 30 day photo challenge just might take 30 weeks

Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.

I DON'T THINK ANYTHING HAS HAD A "HUGE" IMPACT ON MY LIFE RECENTLY, WHICH TELLS ME THAT LIFE IS WONDERFUL.

THIS IS A PICTURE OF THE BACK YARD IN OMAHA. I SPENT DAYS OUT THERE REMOVING A SHED, AFTER MY BROTHER LOWERED IT FOR ME. THE REASON THAT THIS MADE AN IMPACT ON ME IS BECAUSE I USED A SLEDGE HAMMER, WHICH I HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE, AND I TOOK THIS SHED APART, BASICALLY BOARD BY BOARD. IT WAS AN AWESOME ACCOMPLISHMENT.

IT IS ONLY FAIR TO SHOW THE SHED

An update for the 400 mile challenge

I am thinking of changing the name of my blog to "the 400 mile challenge update" For someone who doesn't have a lot going on in my life, I sure haven't spent any of my time writing. I have so many ideas that I would like to get written and posted, but unfortunately I love to daydream also, and that's what I do if I sit here and try to write.
First, I'd like to say Thank you for the challenge Ellie.

I am staying at a steady pace and finding new ways to get my miles in. This week I jogged/walked on the Wii Fit a couple of times, but I spent most of the time walking back and forth in the yard as I battled the shed.

It is exciting to have pictures of that shed down. It seems that I haven't been such a slacker afterall. (smiles)

Here are my results:

Total this week =16.30 miles
Previous  = 157.34 miles
New total for the year = 173.64 miles

I did have my camera handy..imagine that.

Is it bad to add ice cream to your oatmeal?

We had snow when the week started. This is at my sister's house "up the hill".

"up the hill" artwork

Mr Handsome came to visit.

HERE IS THE SHED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK.

THE SHED,  AT THE END OF THE WEEK.
WE HAD TO BRING IT DOWN TO KEEP THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAPPY.

I HOPE YOU ARE ALL TAKING BITES OUT OF YOUR OWN CHALLENGES.

MY NEW GOAL IS TO POST SOMETHING ELSE ON MY BLOG BEFORE THE NEXT 400 MILE UPDATE.

... SEE YA THEN.
